Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

The competition is open to anyone, but all photos must be taken within the Wairarapa region.

Entrants of all ages are welcome. If a winner is under 18, the Wairarapa Catchment Collective will require the contact details of a parent or legal guardian.

2. How to Enter

Entries can be submitted by:

  • Posting a photo on Facebook or Instagram and tagging the Wairarapa Catchment Collective, or

  • Sending the photo via email to the Wairarapa Catchment Collective.

Use of the hashtag #CatchmentCritters is encouraged but not required.

Each photo counts as one entry. Entrants may submit multiple photos.

3. Photo Requirements

Photos must be original and taken by the entrant.

Photos must feature wildlife in the Wairarapa.

By entering, participants grant the Wairarapa Catchment Collective a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use submitted photos for promotional or educational purposes, including social media, newsletters, reports, printed materials, and the Collective website.

The Wairarapa Catchment Collective is not required to credit photographers when using images.

4. Competition Period

The competition opens 5 December 2025.

Entries close at 11:59pm on 28 February 2026.

The winner will be notified by 13 March 2026 via the platform they entered through (Facebook, Instagram, or email).

5. Judging and Winner Selection

All eligible entries will be judged by the Wairarapa Catchment Collective team.

The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Wairarapa Catchment Collective reserves the right not to award a prize if there are insufficient eligible entries.

6. Prize

The winner will receive a prize (to be confirmed).

The prize will be delivered within the Wairarapa only.

Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

7. Privacy

Personal information provided for the purposes of the competition (e.g., winner contact details) will be used only for administering the competition.

The Wairarapa Catchment Collective will not share personal information with third parties.

By entering, participants consent to the Wairarapa Catchment Collective contacting them if they win.

8. General Conditions

By submitting an entry, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions.

The Wairarapa Catchment Collective may disqualify any entry that is incomplete, inappropriate, or does not meet these Terms & Conditions.

The Wairarapa Catchment Collective may modify, suspend, or cancel the competition if necessary.

9. Facebook & Instagram Compliance

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.

By entering, participants:

  • Release Facebook and Instagram from any responsibility or liability, and

  • Acknowledge that they are providing information to the Wairarapa Catchment Collective, not to Facebook or Instagram.
